About Us
Shindigs is a ticketing platform for live events in India — gigs, comedy nights, dinners, art shows. Organizers list what they are putting on, and people buy tickets to it. This page describes what we actually do, who runs it and what we charge, because those are reasonable things to want in writing before you hand over money.
1. Who runs it
Shindigs is run by Shindigs, a sole proprietorship of Arpan Roy Chowdhury, a sole proprietorship based at 34 Gangapuri, Purbaputiary, Kolkata 700093, West Bengal, India. It is a small, independent business — Arpan Roy Chowdhury is the proprietor, and there is no company or investor behind it. Our GSTIN is 19BQGPR1379Q1ZU.
2. What we sell
Tickets to live events, and nothing else. There is no physical product, so there is nothing to ship and no delivery address to give: a ticket is issued the moment your payment succeeds, and it arrives two ways at once — by email, as a PDF with a QR code, and in your ticket wallet on this site if you have an account.
- For people going out: browsing and buying tickets, a wallet of every ticket you hold, the ability to transfer a ticket to a friend, and an AI assistant that helps you find something on.
- For organizers: listing and publishing events, selling tickets with live inventory that cannot oversell, a scanner for the door, attendee lists, and payouts.
3. How it works, and who you buy from
Shindigs is a marketplace. We do not run events. The organizer of each event is the seller of its tickets and is responsible for the event itself; we provide the platform, collect the payment on their behalf and issue the ticket.
You can ask us which business is selling any ticket, and for its full registered details. Our Terms & Conditions set out what being a marketplace means when something goes wrong.
4. What it costs
For people buying tickets: the ticket price is set by the organizer. On top of it we add a platform fee, shown as its own line at checkout before you pay, along with GST where it applies. The total on the checkout page is the only amount charged — there is no charge added afterwards and no subscription.
For organizers: there is no listing fee and no monthly cost. We take a commission on tickets sold, agreed per event before it goes on sale, and it comes out of the payout rather than being invoiced.
Some events also carry a cover charge. Where they do, the event page says so and says whether it is already inside the ticket price or collected by the venue when you arrive.
5. Payments and refunds
Payments are taken by Cashfree Payments, a Reserve Bank of India authorised payment aggregator. We never see or store your card, UPI or banking details.
Tickets are non-refundable except where an event is cancelled, rescheduled or materially changed. The full rules are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
